Realistic Manes Salon Concepts is a haircare salon located near downtown Minneapolis. We provide various haircare services suited to meet the needs of our clients.
Our stylists keeps up with the latest trends, also being trendsetters themselves. We strive to keep the monotany from our business. We love what we do!!!
We pride ourselves in giving the most natural weaves/extentions and wigs. We also aid in the distribution of natural human hair and hair products for our retail clientele. We supply our own brand of pure Indian Virgin Hair. You can use our hair or bring your own.

Kanika Baker-Buford:

Being a superior haircare professional has always been one of Kanika's dreams to acheive. As a young girl being under the tutelage of one of St.Louis' finest hairweave technicians, she sought out to make herself one the finest in the business as well. After graduating from Empire ( formerly Scot Lewis) Cosmetology School in Plymouth Minnesota, she took a job with JCPenney salons to educate herself on all aspects and ethnicities of hair. While working with another mentor Juanita Rodiquez( Juanita's Hair and Nails) she began perfecting her craft with unique and innovative works that have been featured on print.
She has been a representative for noted companies such as Big Sexy Hair and Nairobi Professional.
In 2007, Kanika, opened her own salon Realistic Manes Salon Concepts. With all that she has accomplished, she continues to regularly attend trades shows and educational seminars. Her education and training sheet include training courses with: Pivot Point International, Designer Touch, Soft Sheen Carson and CHI. Her proudest accomplishment is conducting the largest Hair showcase Minneapolis has ever had, Realistic Manes/Cats Distributors 1st Annual Hairshowcase sponsored by Nairobi products.
Her passion for learning has inspired her to educate other novice stylist and students, helping them perfect their craft. Kanika has started giving classes on the various weave techniques she learns and perfects. Traveling continueously. Whether you are a client, being styled by this fabulous stylist, or a pupil in one of her seminars, you will be greeted with exceptional professional service!
Telesa E. Lewis
Telesa's career began the day she walked through the doors of Aveda Institute. Many times, she would take countless detours just to drive past and take a glance at the cosmetology school she hoped to attend some day. Bringing that dream to fruition, Telesa successfully graduated from Aveda Institute and went on to work in one of Minneapolis's finest salons. There is where she continued her education and enhanced her skills as an innovative stylist.
Wanting more out of her career. Telesa relocated to Atlanta, GA. It was there, where she blossomed into a great freelance hair stylist while also working for one of Atlanta's hottest upscale salons. As a freelance stylist, she has worked with some of the most talented photographers, designers, make-up artist, and models in the industry.
Even with a busy schedule, she is noted to maintained a personal business relationship with all her clients. Telesa operates on the importance of providing excellent customer service which makes her clients feel special. She consults with her clients to understand their wants and needs and then ties in her knowledge to provide them with the best styles and hair care.

Laquesha Fountain
Laquesha (Nana) Fountain AKA Queen
A graduate of Minneapolis Technical Institute of Cosmetology. Laquesha has more than 20 years experiece as a stylist. She received her master stylist and manager license in 2004, and has continued to educate herself and stay abreast in the latest in hair care, styling and design.
Laquesha has participated in many hairshows/events, in and out of state. She is interested in taking her career to a higher level and acheiving the goal of becoming a teacher. Educating her peers and clients in the promotion of healthy hair. Haircare is a passion for this stylist, she does not let her clients down.
"I endeavor to provide excellence in service to all clients as well as make you look and feel beautiful no matter how your rock your locks. I create with natural, relaxed and weave styles, and provide helpful tips to help you maintain beautiful and healthy hair".
Nikka Ross:
Nikka, a new and upcoming manicurist that enjoys her craft. She is a graduate of The Salon Professional Academy of New Hope, MN and has worked at a salon for a few years where she mastered manicures, pedicures and Acrylic Nails.
Nikka promotes and specializes in the overall health of natural nail care. Knowing that customer service is number one she takes the time with every client to understand their needs and suggest services that might be beneficial to them while making and overall plan to address all concerns. Nikkia pays close attention to detail and is a person who welcomes suggestions.
